With my recent inception into a group of awesome minds accomplishing remarkable things, Sound Situations was born. With a vision, deadlines, a team, meetings and lots of beer and chips we are on our way to creating some very, very memorable video content.

Without spewing too many details, this is the first of many “Sound Situations.”

Meet Tin Can Sailor. They’re a few guys studying at NCSU with more potential than direction and a whole lot of talent.

Where was the stage? It didn’t matter. The curb would suffice. The always eager Raleigh First Friday crowd gathered outside The Raleigh Times to hear something some of them were familiar with and others – soon to follow. Tin Can Sailor played through their set. Listeners sat closer and closer, heads peeked over heads, passers-by couldn’t help but stop in their steps. Everyone caught a glimpse. What most didn’t know was that afterwards Tin Can Sailor would steal away from the crowd to across the street and underground in the Fish Market NCSU student gallery. They were unplugged, underground and in a matter of minutes, ready to play again for us. This time – different. The gallery was fitting, the sound reverberating and the ambiance, unmatched. The performance was intimate and we were a privileged audience. The set includes ‘reform’ and ‘pack it up.’ Find more happy times on their free debut EP at http://tincansailor.bandcamp.
